Our doulas were hand selected by the Founder because they emulate these values. All doulas are interviewed, background checked, and their doula training verified to ensure that families are working with a qualified birth professional. 

Our doulas work as a team and meet regularly to support each other, and participate in ongoing professional development (our doulas are always learning and keeping up to date with best practices and new evidence-based research).

Doula burnout is real. By working in a team we curb burnout by supporting each other, working in community, and making doula work sustainable for the long haul.

You will schedule a free 30 minute Zoom call with the Founder of Doulas of North County, Doula Kelly Rae, who will learn more about your needs, preferences, and unique requests for a doula. On this call, you will learn more about our team, availability, services, and fees.

In most cases, a birth doula's expertise is different from a postpartum doula's expertise. Logistically, it's often difficult for a doula to practice both (birth doulas are "on call" 24/7 and often can't commit to a regular postpartum doula schedule). 

If you want to hire both, our team is qualified to assist you and we can help. 

There are many benefits of working with us! 

1. Working with a doula agency saves you time and energy. Our team is made up of professional and qualified doulas so you can feel at ease with the care provided. Our Founder, Kelly, puts time and intention into understanding your needs and connecting with you someone from the team who is a good fit. 
2. Our doulas are hand selected and put through an interview and verification process to ensure you are getting matched with a qualified and professional doula. The doula profession is not regulated, anyone can call themselves a doula which can make it more challenging for families to know how to best interview a doula. Our doulas have been trained by a reputable doula training organization, background checked, and participate in ongoing professional development to ensure you are getting a highly qualified doula who is a good fit for your family. 
3. When you hire a doula from our team you are joining the Doulas of North County family, which means you are supported in the event your doula has an emergency and cannot attend your birth or postpartum shift. It is very rare for a doula to have to call in a backup, however, in the event of an emergency (two clients birthing at once, illness, family emergency) you are not left without a doula. When you match with our team, if your doula needs to call in a backup, our team has the resources to send you a qualified doula who can support you.

We work with clients all over San Diego County. Our doulas go to any hospital, birth center, or home in San Diego County.
